Your Kitten

1. Vaccinate your kitten with the distemper vaccine every three weeks from 6-8 weeks of age until 16 weeks of age. Rabies can be given after 12 weeks of age.

2. Test for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus at second vaccination and begin Feline Leukemia vaccines

3. Heartworm prevention every month after 9 weeks of age.

4. Flea prevention every month from when warms up until freezes and stays cold.

5. Training to be a good pet

a. Play with them and give them attention daily.

b. Provide them with plenty of toys.

c. Provide scratching posts and places for them to perch up high.

d. Litter boxes and food should be in an out of the way place with at least two ways to get in and out (more important in multipet households).

e. Brush their hair while young so they can get used to basic grooming.
