Glen Park Animal Hospital serves the veterinary, boarding and grooming needs of Gary, Hammond, Calumet City, Highland, Griffith, East Chicago, Merrillville, and New Chicago as well as surrounding areas.
Our philosophy is a little different; we try to develop a bond with our patients so they want to come back in to see us. Dr. Marcus Larson often gets on the floor with the dog and makes his exam feel more like attention than a visit to the doctor. Most puppies do not even know they got a vaccine and run back in for boosters to see their friends. Wagging tails and rushing into the practice is what we want and have developed. Cats do best with minimal stress and quick appointments – we recommend either a pinch of chamomile tea with breakfast or feliway spray for a calming effect.
Our medical team serves you by providing a convenient combination of animal health care and education for owners. At Glen Park Animal Hospital, in Gary, we offer full health care and wellness services. This includes services such as vaccination and preventative treatments, wellness checks, emergency and urgent care, surgery, sick/medical animal care (diagnostics and treatment), dental cleaning and acupuncture. We also offer grooming, boarding, and even house calls for your pet family member.
The education we offer to pet owners is often one of the most valuable services we offer as it helps to explain the importance of things such as nutrition, exercise, and training towards a pet’s overall wellness. The education about your pet’s health problems is also very important and Dr. Larson will explain all about the problem, what it means to you and your pet, the treatment, and the expected outcome. It is always difficult when a family member is sick but we will help you understand the illness and what to do about it.
We offer standard office hours from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and office hours from 9:00 am through 1:00 pm on Saturdays for your convenience.
Here at Glen Park, we work closely with all pet owners to ensure that they can give their pets the care they deserve. If your pet requires an expensive treatment, we are happy to help find a solution for you and your pet, such as CareCredit.
Our practice likes to stress the importance of preventative care. We encourage all pet owners to have their pets vaccinated and remain up to date. It is important that your pet family member be examined every year as part of their routine medical care as medical issues that are caught early can significantly extend their happy healthy life.
